As I shared with you back in April, I offered up a gift certificate as a donation to the Kibble and Cocktails event to benefit DFW Rescue Me’s Justice Fund. A lovely lady was the lucky bidder and commissioned me to paint a portrait of her beloved Tracker. And she wanted a custom oil painting just the right size for her favorite bookshelf.  

The Custom Oil Painting

This is Tracker. Handsome fellow isn’t he? A beloved 9-year-old bloodhound whose owner was kind enough to contribute to DFW Rescue Me’s fine cause. She wanted a custom oil painting that would fit in a small space, on a bookshelf where she could see, and enjoy it, often.

The Photograph

Here you can see the photograph that I was provided to use to create the portrait of Tracker. The portrait itself is an 8 by 10 inch oil on canvas. Paintings this size are perfect to position on a mantlepiece, to join other photos or memorabilia on a wall, or, as in this case, to be positioned on a bookshelf. I also create 6 by 6 inch oil paintings, which are very useful in groupings, but are normally just of the head of the subject.
