Turn a favorite photograph of your pet into a one-of-a-kind work of art. Larry Gekiere Studio creates custom pet portraits individually painted by hand in oil, capturing the personality, expression, and character that make your companion special.
Whether you’re interested in commissioning a portrait of a dog, cat, or another beloved pet, I would be happy to discuss your photograph, painting ideas, and the details of your commission.
Commission a Custom Pet Oil Painting From Your Photo
Every custom pet oil painting begins with a photograph you provide. Rather than using digital effects or printing your photograph onto canvas, I create each portrait by hand using traditional oil painting techniques.
The goal is to create more than a reproduction of a photograph. Careful attention is given to your pet’s eyes, expression, coloring, fur, lighting, and other distinctive details to capture the personality behind the image.
Your finished portrait is an original oil painting created specifically for you.
Custom Pet Portraits of Dogs, Cats & Beloved Companions
Pets become an important part of our families, and a hand painted portrait offers a lasting way to celebrate that relationship. I create custom pet portraits for clients looking to capture a favorite moment, honor a lifelong companion, memorialize a pet who has passed, or give someone a meaningful and personal gift.
Each commission is approached as an individual work of art. No two pets are exactly alike, and no two paintings should be either.
If you have a favorite photograph already selected, you can send it along with your inquiry. If you’re unsure which image would make the best painting, I can help you choose a photograph that provides a strong reference for your portrait.
A Genuine Hand Painted Oil Portrait — Not a Print
Many custom pet portrait services use digital filters, computer-generated artwork, or printed images. Larry Gekiere Studio takes a different approach.
Your custom pet portrait is painted entirely by hand in oil, creating authentic brushwork, texture, depth, and character. The finished piece is an original painting rather than a mass-produced or digitally reproduced image.
This traditional process creates artwork designed to be displayed, enjoyed, and passed down for generations.
Custom Pet Portraits Make Meaningful Gifts
A custom oil painting can make an unforgettable gift for a pet owner. From birthdays and anniversaries to holidays, memorials, and other important occasions, a hand painted portrait transforms a meaningful photograph into something that can be treasured for years.
If you’re ordering a portrait as a gift, please let me know when you contact the studio so we can discuss your photograph, desired painting size, and any timing considerations.
Custom Oil Portraits Shipped Nationwide
You don’t need to live near the studio to commission an original painting. Larry Gekiere Studio creates custom pet oil paintings from photographs for clients throughout the United States, with nationwide shipping available.
The process can begin with the photograph you already have. Once I learn more about your portrait and what you’re looking for, we can discuss the next steps for creating your custom painting.
