When someone loses a dog, they also lose something it is not easy to find in this world – unconditional love. And those who appreciate and understand the kind of chasm that loss leaves in a life, sometimes try to find a way to acknowledge that loss.

Anonymous Gift

A wonderful person just did that – anonymously – approaching me to do a custom oil painting for a friend who had just lost the lovely Lula. All I had was this photo and the absolute certainty that the person receiving the gift was much beloved by this dog.

Surprised Recipient

Once the painting was delivered, a complete surprise to the recipient, I received a note telling me how much Lula’s painting meant to her. She hung it in her office so Lula was the first thing she saw in the morning and the last thing she saw as she left. She was very happy with the thoughtful gift from her anonymous friend.
