Landscape & Pet Traditional Oil PaintingsLarry Gekiere  is a creative individual.

Art is a continuum, in his life and it has taken many forms. As a young boy in Detroit, Michigan,  He entered many contests in drawing and model building looking for ways to express his creativity. He started a business doing financial planning as a way to use this creativity to help people succeed financially. (After 50 years it is still going strong.)

As an Eagle Scout, raising three sons  he has been drawn to the outdoors and  constantly sees a picture, in nature. This is the beginning of a sketch or painting. His art evolved into building award winning Scratch Model Ships and oil paintings.

Much of his painting skills were self taught. Larry has taken art courses both in Santa Fe, NM and Dallas, TX from such renowned artists as Ann Cushing Gantz and Jeanette Dryden. He has also worked closely with Sara Eyestone  curator at the historic La Posada de Santa Fe Resort. He has  been a participant in art shows in both Texas and New Mexico.

His work has been displayed in The High Desert Angler in Santa Fe and Tailwaters Fly Fishing Co. in Dallas,Texas. His art is also available in the North Platt Lodge in Wyoming.

His Studio paintings revolve around nature which is inspired by  extensive personal travels, all over the world.

His art is an expression of individual memories. done in  a  painterly way.  In his experience, he has come to realize that clients want to have lasting visual images of important things in their lives.

He has focused on a Trout Series. Painting an action series of the five trout that are native to New Mexico. These unique original oil paintings are in a typical New Mexico setting.
